Job Description
We develop the best measurement systems for the global energy industry, encompassing applications from oil and gas production to CO2 storage, geothermal and more. In this role you will be a part of a highly skilled engineering team, working with cross-discipline teams to design and develop the best measurements systems in the global energy industry. You will be involved in all phases of product development from requirements definition to research, design, development and testing, and production as well as after-sales support.
You are an excellent communicator, enjoy solving problems, and work well in teams.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in identifying and organizing requirements. Apply relevant usability procedures and principles.
- Analyze, design, develop, maintain products and assist in their commercialization.
- Build prototypes, products and systems suitable for testing. Set up and run lab simulations. Design and implement tests, document results and develop customer presentations. Provide timely corrective actions on defects.
- Produce analyses and mathematical models and draw design conclusions based on those.
- Conduct or participate in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, code and other artifacts. Contribute to design standards and support design re-use.
- Create and maintain product documentation. Provide support to field and customers. Provide user training as required.
- Assign, direct and review the work of technicians and provide guidance to engineers. With seniority, mentor junior engineers.
- Continually evaluate engineering approaches and risks.
- Author technical reports, papers, articles, patents and presentations. Share expertise and expand informal network throughout the organization.
- Keep abreast of novel technical concepts and markets. Readily adopt new practices to develop innovative and cost-effective products.
- Maintain familiarity with company technology, organization and business.
Qualifications and Experience:
- PhD degree in Nuclear Physics.
- Preferred minimum 5 years of relevant experience within engineering or research & development.
- Fluent in English.
- Experience with programming is an advantage (MATLAB, Python, C++).
Preferred Competencies:
- Nuclear physics applied to gamma densitometry and process measurements, knowledge of radiation transport codes (e.g., MCNP) and energy spectrum interpretation.
- Data analysis, signal processing, mathematical modelling, uncertainty analysis.
- Multiphase flow, fluid dynamics, flow measurement and modelling, flow loop testing.
- Fluid properties, flow assurance and PVT models.
