The Business

The Shortlist is supporting recruitment for a global creative production hub working with brands, agencies, and publishers to create high-quality, creatively ambitious video content for international audiences.

Their output spans short-form social through to long-form, multi-channel campaigns, including branded content, documentary, corporate, and explainer films. They operate with a strong in-house creative and production team, alongside a carefully curated global community of filmmakers and production partners.

The business has been operating internationally for over a decade, is deeply embedded in the digital and social content ecosystem, and partners with some of the world's most respected brands and media owners. It has a strong culture rooted in craft, collaboration, and creative integrity, with established teams in both Europe and Asia.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are core to how this business operates, not as a statement, but as a lived practice.

The Role

As New Business Director, APAC, you will lead the commercial function in the region.

You'll be responsible for originating, shaping, and converting new business opportunities, bringing in the right briefs, building long-term client relationships, and helping define how the business shows up in the market.

This role sits at the intersection of creativity and commerce. You'll work closely with senior creative, production, and leadership teams, acting as a trusted external face of the business while owning revenue performance in APAC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of new business and revenue growth across APAC
  • Develop a deep understanding of the company's creative strengths, values, and ways of working to target the most relevant clients and briefs
  • Proactively identify and cultivate new client relationships across brands, agencies, and strategic partners
  • Lead opportunities from the first conversation through to the signed agreement
  • Shape and deliver tailored pitches that clearly articulate creative and commercial value
  • Leverage the company's creative community to inspire clients and unlock distinctive opportunities
  • Build a sustainable, well-forecasted pipeline, managing monthly and quarterly revenue targets

About You

Only apply for this role if you have direct experience working within, or closely alongside, a creative production environment.

This includes production companies, creative studios, content houses, or agency production teams. Candidates without relevant production experience will not be considered.

What else will you'll need

  • Senior-level experience in new business, commercial leadership, or partnerships within creative production, content, media, or agency environments
  • Strong track record of originating and converting high-value opportunities
  • Commercially sharp with a genuine appreciation for creative craft
  • Confidently engaging senior stakeholders and navigating complex, multi-market briefs
  • Comfortable operating with autonomy in a high-trust, entrepreneurial environment
  • APAC market experience strongly preferred

Why This Role

  • A genuine leadership role with influence over regional growth and positioning
  • Opportunity to shape commercial strategy, not just execute it
  • International exposure and collaboration with senior global teams
  • A business that values quality, creativity, and long-term relationships over volume
  • Flexibility in how the role is structured (permanent, fractional, or freelance)
