Network Security Engineer

Responsibilities

• Implement and deliver professional services such as deployment, configuration, and upgrades of cybersecurity and networking solutions from our technology portfolio.
• Perform network-related implementation tasks, including firewall policy setup, VPN configuration, routing adjustments, segmentation, and integration with existing customer environments.
• Develop and present workable technical solutions aligned with customer requirements, including alternative design recommendations.
• Provide structured product and technical training to customers, partners, and internal teams.
• Carry out installations and system/network configurations independently using product documentation and best practices.
• Continuously upskill and pursue certifications related to assigned cybersecurity or network technologies.
• Build subject matter expertise to support knowledge transfer and enhance customer maintenance and operations support.
• Assist sales and technical teams with pre-sales activities, feature validation, solution design, and tender responses.
• Troubleshoot complex network and security issues, including routing, switching, firewall behaviors, authentication flows, and protocol-level diagnostics.

Requirements

• Nitec/Higher Nitec, Diploma, or Degree in IT, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, or related discipline.
• Preferably at least 2 years of experience in IT, networking, or cybersecurity. Fresh candidates may be considered for Associate Engineer roles.
• Solid understanding of networking technologies, including routing, switching, VLANs, NAT, VPNs, subnetting, multicast, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DHCP, DNS, and network authentication mechanisms.
• Good knowledge of cybersecurity solutions such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, DLP, SIEM, web proxies, endpoint security, IAM, PAM, virtualization, containers, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Competent troubleshooting skills for both network and system-level issues.
• Strong interest in cybersecurity threats, attack techniques, and evolving network security trends.
• Advantageous to hold certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, CCSE/CCSM, CISSP, CyberArk, Trellix, ArcSight, CREST, OSCP, or cloud security certifications.
• Compliance with internal information security policies is required.
• Positive attitude, strong professionalism, and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Comfortable working under pressure and managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
