Network Security Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Network Security Engineer to design, implement, monitor, and maintain secure network infrastructure across the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, network monitoring, and cybersecurity best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and manage secure network infrastructure
- Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and security breaches
- Implement and maintain firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and endpoint security solutions
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and security audits
- Respond to security incidents and perform root cause analysis
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure system integration
- Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures
- Perform patch management and firmware upgrades
- Ensure compliance with security frameworks and regulatory standards
- Generate security reports and documentation
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Networking, or related field
- 2-5+ years of experience in network/security engineering
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP
- Experience with firewalls such as Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, Fortinet, or Check Point Software Technologies
- Knowledge of SIEM, IDS/IPS, NAC, VPN, and zero-trust security models
- Familiarity with cloud security concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST and ISO 27001
- Scripting knowledge (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) is a plus
