The Network Resident Engineer is responsible for supporting, operating, and enhancing company's enterprise network environment, with a strong focus on Cisco ACI, data center networking, routing, switching, and network security. This role involves onsite troubleshooting, configuration, network triage, and technical leadership based on seniority level. Hands-on experience with Cisco ACI implementation and configuration is mandatory
- Deliver onsite support for troubleshooting, configuration, and escalated issue resolution.
- Perform Day-2 operations for Cisco ACI and other enterprise network technologies.
- Analyze technical requirements and contribute to solution design, testing, and deployment.
- Collaborate with client Operations Infrastructure and principal vendors to ensure successful implementation.
- Execute incident response, network triage, and proactive problem resolution.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, diagrams, and SOPs.
- Participate in rotational standby duties.
- Provide leadership and mentorship for junior team members (for L3 roles).
Requirements
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Strong foundational knowledge of routing, switching, and network operations.
- Ability to triage network incidents and perform onsite troubleshooting effectively.
- Hands-on experience in deploying, managing, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- CCIE certification or equivalent senior-level experience in enterprise routing & switching, data center network architecture, and network security.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting complex L2/L3 network issues.
- Demonstrated experience installing and supporting network devices within scope.
- Ability to perform under pressure in critical situations.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Networking:
- Protocols & Architecture: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP.
- Data Center Networking: Routing & switching, Cisco ACI / SDN, Cisco ISE servers.
- Nexus switches, Cisco ACI, DNAC, SD-WAN administration & troubleshooting.
- DWDM principles and network architecture.
- Load Balancers: Deployment, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Certifications: Huawei HCIA/HCIP (Datacom or Transmission), CCNA/CCNP preferred.
Security:
- Firewall Administration: Palo Alto, Check Point, Fortigate, Cisco Firewalls.
- Recommended Certifications: PCNSA or CCSA.
- Disaster Recovery: Activation/deactivation exercises.
- Packet Analysis: Skilled in sniffer tools for traffic capture and deep packet analysis.
Automation & Management:
- Network Management Tools: SolarWinds, ServiceNow, Splunk, Huawei U2000/NCE-T/NCE-Campus.
- Automation: Ansible Playbooks, scripting with Python, shell, Algosec.
- Monitoring Platforms: Configuration and administration of network monitoring systems.
