Role Overview
We are seeking a highly capable Network Resident Engineer to provide onsite operational support and continuous enhancement of a large-scale enterprise network environment. This role carries strong emphasis on Cisco ACI, data center networking, routing, switching, and network security.
You will operate in a mission-critical environment, delivering hands-on troubleshooting, configuration, and real-time network triage. Senior-level candidates will also provide technical leadership and mentorship. Hands-on Cisco ACI implementation and support experience is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide onsite support for network troubleshooting, configuration, and escalated incident resolution
- Perform Day-2 operations for Cisco ACI and enterprise network infrastructure
- Execute incident response, network triage, and proactive problem mitigation
- Support network design reviews, testing, and deployment activities
- Work closely with client infrastructure teams and principal technology vendors
- Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and SOPs
- Participate in standby rotation and critical incident support
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers for senior roles
Role Requirements
- Strong foundation in enterprise routing, switching, and network operations
- Proven ability to perform onsite troubleshooting and real-time incident triage
- Hands-on experience in deploying and supporting enterprise network infrastructure
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proven ability to perform under pressure in high availability environments
- CCIE certification or equivalent senior-level enterprise experience is required for senior roles
Technical Skill Requirements
Networking
- Protocols and Architecture: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP
- Data Centre Networking: Cisco ACI, Nexus switching, Cisco ISE
- Enterprise Platforms: DNAC, SD-WAN
- Transmission Networks: DWDM principles and architecture
- Load Balancers: Deployment, troubleshooting, and operational support
- Preferred Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, Huawei HCIA or HCIP
Security
- Firewall platforms: Palo Alto, Check Point, Fortigate, Cisco Firewalls
- Packet analysis using sniffer tools for traffic capture and troubleshooting
- Disaster recovery activation and recovery support
- Security certifications such as PCNSA or CCSA are an advantage
Automation and Network Management
- Network management and monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Splunk, Huawei U2000, NCE-T, NCE-Campus
- ITSM platform exposure such as ServiceNow
- Automation using Ansible playbooks, Python, shell scripting, and AlgoSec
- Configuration and administration of monitoring platforms
Additional Requirements
- Comfortable working fully onsite at ports, data centers, and equipment facilities
- Able to support outdoor work environments and work at heights due to network equipment locations
- Familiarity with ITIL processes is an advantage
