About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Network Operations Lead to join our team on a 1 year renewable Contract Basis to oversee and manage network infrastructure operations, incident response, and system health.
This role involves leading a team of network engineers, maintaining documentation and compliance, and ensuring optimal performance and availability of network systems.
The candidate will have hands-on experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, Check Point, and F5 technologies, and a strong understanding of ITSM/ITIL practices.
Mandatory: CCNP Enterprise with supporting skills on Tenable Nessus. Cat 2 clearance needed
Based in the Ang Mo Kio North-East Region, you will play a pivotal part in supporting the wider Information & Communication Technology function.

What you'll be doing:
Incident & Problem Management
- Lead the investigation and resolution of network-related hardware, software, and firmware incidents.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement temporary or permanent resolutions.
- Provide timely updates to stakeholders during incident handling.
Network Operations & Monitoring
- Conduct daily system health checks and continuous monitoring for performance, availability, and security.
- Highlight and escalate abnormalities promptly.
- Ensure backups for all network-related equipment are running and verified.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date network records and documentation.
- Collaborate with customers to review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks.
Infrastructure Planning & Implementation
- Gather business and application requirements to design, install, test, and implement network systems.
- Plan and execute hardware and firmware upgrades with rollback strategies.
- Implement service continuity measures including backup/restore and disaster recovery plans.
ITSM/ITIL Alignment
- Align daily operations with ITSM/ITIL methodologies including Change, Incident, Problem, Release Management, and CMDB updates.
- Monitor and measure system performance and availability, implementing corrective actions as needed.
Security & Compliance
- Review firewall rules monthly for relevance and security.
- Validate configurations against CIS benchmarks and remediate non-compliance.
- Conduct log reviews and escalate security events.
Asset & Patch Management
- Reconcile physical and logical assets monthly and update CMDB.
- Perform patch management including scanning, prioritization, deployment, and testing.
Capacity Planning & Reporting
- Analyze resource usage and forecast future needs.
- Compile monthly progress reports covering service metrics, incidents, changes, and performance data.
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and mentor a team of network engineers.
- Evaluate internal and external environments to develop long-term strategies.
- Assist in proposal preparation and solution presentations.
Reporting & Deliverables:
- Monthly Reports: Service metrics, firmware/software updates, account reviews, patch compliance, asset reconciliation, firewall audits, capacity planning, and security compliance.
Daily Checks: Health check logs and monitoring summaries.
What we're looking for
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a network operations or network engineering role
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification or equivalent
- Strong technical expertise in network protocols, switching, routing, security and wireless technologies
- Proficient in troubleshooting complex network issues and implementing effective solutions
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills
- Experience in leading a team of network professionals is preferred
- Technical Skills needed:
Proficient in Cisco switches, routers, and load balancers
Hands-on experience with Palo Alto and Check Point firewalls
Familiarity with F5 Load Balancer
Strong understanding of network protocols, security standards, and performance tuning
