About the Role
The Project Engineer will be responsible for supporting and delivering core network infrastructure projects within a defence environment.
The role involves coordinating implementation, configuration, and maintenance of network systems while ensuring timely project delivery and compliance with security requirements.
This position requires candidates with hands-on technical expertise and strong coordination skills to work effectively with end-users, vendors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end delivery of network infrastructure projects, including planning, setup, configuration, and testing.
- Perform installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of routers, switches, firewalls, and UPS systems.
- Coordinate with vendors, users, and project stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation and issue resolution.
- Monitor network performance and provide operational support during project rollout.
- Prepare project documentation, progress reports, and network topology diagrams.
- Ensure compliance with defence network security standards and protocols.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
- CAT 1 MSD clearance required (or eligible to obtain).
- Hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, UPS, and network monitoring tools.
- CCNA certification highly preferred.
- Strong communication and coordination skills to engage effectively with end-users and vendors.
Preferred Attributes
- Prior experience supporting government or defence-related infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of network delivery, implementation, and operational support workflows.
