Role Summary
We are seeking an L2 Network & Firewall Engineer responsible for managing patching and vulnerability remediation across network and firewall infrastructure. The role focuses on ensuring security, stability, and compliance while supporting enterprise network environments.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end patching and vulnerability remediation for network and firewall devices.
- Administer and support Cisco, Fortinet, and F5 network security platforms.
- Perform patch assessments, firmware and BIOS upgrades, including rollback planning and troubleshooting.
- Monitor network logs and maintain operational health and compliance.
- Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and operations teams to remediate vulnerabilities and coordinate patch deployments.
- Maintain patching documentation, change records, and compliance reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in network and firewall administration.
- Strong experience with Cisco platforms (IOS / IOS-XE) and exposure to ACI, Arista, F5, Check Point, or Palo Alto.
- Good understanding of network flows, DNS, DHCP, and IPAM.
- Experience with Switching (VLANs, STP, Ethernet) and Routing (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
- Familiarity with ACLs and patch management tools (NetBot or similar).
- Experience working in SLA-driven environments with strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Willingness to work weekend rosters and provide on-call support when required.
