Network Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist in FTTx network implementation.

• Troubleshoot IP services, networks & FTTx issues, and ensure that all escalation issues are resolved

• Engage vendor support and join con-calls to ensure the service restored within limited downtime

• Responsible for attending escalations from technical support or NOC teams

• Plan and monitor the subscribers/PON port migration during troubleshooting.

• Document the resolution of incidents and problems

• Responsible for field operations and maintenance of FTTx network.

• Schedule and execute pre-planned operation activities for new OLTs, network optimization, software upgrade and so on.

• Support senior engineers in implementing network upgrades.

• Responsible for field operations and maintenance of FTTx network.

Requirements

• Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or any related field

• Minimum 2 years of experience in related field preferred

• Experience in Network operations/maintenance and passionate about providing troubleshooting support

• Knowledge on Internet Technologies (i.e. routing, switching and general network infrastructure), and technologies associated with the ISP market

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and has a flair for dealing with technical and operational problems

• Prior experience from an ISP environment will be an advantage

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Proficiency in using FTTx testing tools and equipment

• Experienced in OLT/ONT configuration, fiber optic principles, and relevant protocols.
