About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer (Proxy Engineer) to manage, support, and enhance enterprise proxy and network security infrastructure. The role involves proxy administration, security policy implementation, troubleshooting, and collaboration with stakeholders to deliver secure and efficient network solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain proxy solutions including Fortinet FortiProxy, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, Squid, and HAProxy in a RedHat Linux environment.
- Develop, implement, and maintain proxy security policies (URL filtering, SSL inspection, access controls).
- Provide Level 2/3 support to troubleshoot and resolve proxy, application connectivity, and web access issues.
- Manage software upgrades, vulnerability remediation (CVEs), and lifecycle tracking (EOL/EOSL).
- Develop and deploy Proxy Auto-Configuration (PAC) files to optimise traffic routing and performance.
- Collaborate with development teams to implement automation initiatives and improve operational efficiency.
- Engage stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Lead and manage project deliverables and BAU initiatives, including vendor coordination and timeline management.
- Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and security baselines.
Requirements
- Relevant experience in proxy administration and network infrastructure support.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong knowledge of web proxy technologies (e.g., Fortinet, Squid, BlueCoat, McAfee).
- Understanding of Linux systems, DNS, firewalls, load balancers, and secure communication protocols (SSL/TLS).
- Familiarity with authentication protocols such as Kerberos, NTLM, LDAP, and SAML.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSE) are advantageous.
