Job Summary
Manage and secure network infrastructure by administering Palo Alto firewalls, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and coordinating with IT teams to ensure reliable and secure network operations.
Responsibilities
- Administer Palo Alto firewalls by creating and updating firewall security policies and NAT rules to protect network integrity
- Troubleshoot network connectivity and internet access issues to maintain seamless operations
- Configure basic network components including VLANs, switches, routers, and IP addressing to support network functionality
- Review firewall logs and security alerts to identify and respond to potential threats
- Perform daily health checks, backups, and firmware updates to ensure firewall and network reliability
- Coordinate with IT teams and vendors to resolve network and firewall issues efficiently
- Maintain accurate network and firewall documentation to support operational transparency and compliance
- Apply ITSM/ITIL methodologies such as Change, Incident, and Problem Management in daily operations to enhance service quality
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, and routing to support network administration
- Apply understanding of firewall policies and security best practices to safeguard network assets
- Communicate effectively to troubleshoot issues and collaborate with stakeholders
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Relevant certifications such as PCCET or CCNA are advantageous to validate technical expertise
