Job Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Network Operations Technician to join our team. This role is essential to maintaining the stability and performance of our data center and network infrastructure. You will be part of a 24/7 operations team responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting and escalating network-related issues to ensure minimal downtime and optimal system performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor network systems, data center equipment and infrastructure using tools such as SolarWinds or PRTG.
- Promptly respond to alerts and escalate issues to the appropriate support teams.
- Diagnose and isolate network faults, perform basic troubleshooting and configuration of switches and other devices.
- Work closely with internal teams and vendors to ensure timely resolution of network issues.
- Maintain accurate incident logs and adhere to escalation procedures.
- Ensure all physical security procedures within the data center are strictly followed.
- Assist in preventive maintenance and support improvement of monitoring processes.
- Maintain clear communication with stakeholders and manage expectations effectively.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
- Familiar with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG or similar.
- Good understanding of network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls).
- CCNA certification is an advantage.
- Experience in data center operations or NOC environment is highly preferred.
- Familiar with Microsoft Excel (macros, pivot tables).
- Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Willing to work in a rotating 24/7 shift and at height where necessary.
