Position Overview:
As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing the company's network infrastructure. You will work closely with other IT teams to ensure reliable network performance and troubleshooting of network-related issues. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and cloud networks.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and other network devices.
- Ensure the reliability and performance of the company's network by proactively monitoring, identifying, and resolving any issues.
- Collaborate with the IT team to deploy and maintain network security systems, ensuring data protection and minimizing vulnerabilities.
- Perform network assessments and implement improvements for performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for network-related issues across the organization.
- Manage and monitor network infrastructure, ensuring uptime and optimal performance.
- Conduct regular system backups and maintain disaster recovery plans related to network infrastructure.
- Assist in the development and implementation of network policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Maintain accurate network documentation and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in network administration or engineering.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, LAN/WAN, MPLS).
- Proficiency with network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
- Experience with network monitoring tools and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with network security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Good understanding of cloud networking solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud environments is a plus.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA Network+ are highly desirable.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex network issues quickly.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with SD-WAN and network automation tools.
- Knowledge of network virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware NSX, Cisco ACI).
- Familiarity with VoIP, video conferencing, and unified communication solutions.
- Exposure to scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible).
- Experience with network performance testing and load balancing technologies.
