Network Engineer

We are seeking a Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our multi-vendor core and access network infrastructure. You will be responsible for end-to-end connectivity, from high-level routing (BGP/MPLS) to the physical optical layer (DWDM/GPON), ensuring high availability through advanced protocol tuning and hardware optimisation.

Responsibilities:

Configure and troubleshoot routing and switching across a multi-vendor environment.
Design and optimise complex architectures using BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, and MPLS.
Manage firewalls and deploy enterprise wireless solutions.
Maintain the optical layer using DWDM/OTN and GPON/FTTH technologies.
Tune monitoring tools to track bandwidth trends and performance.
Create and maintain Network Diagrams and detailed technical SOPs.
Act as the Tier-2/3 escalation point for troubleshooting, performing deep packet analysis and root cause investigation.
Lead infrastructure projects from design to handover and manage carrier/vendor relationships (RMA, circuit delivery).
Implementation of turn-key projects

Requirements:

Minimum Diploma in Telecommunications, Engineering, or IT with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
Experience in Network Engineering role, specifically within an ISP or Service Provider environment is preferred.
Proven experience with BGP, MPLS, and VRRP.
Hands-on experience with Fibre Optics (splicing standards, dB loss, and light levels) is essential.
Strong working knowledge of Juniper and Cisco is required.
Experience with Fortinet, MikroTik, FiberHome, Packetlight, Ubiquity, Huawei is preferred.
Proficient in using protocol analysers and network graphing tools.
