1. Objective
To provide onsite support for establishing console access to network devices and enable remote login activities by the Infosys team.
2. Scope of Activities
2.1 Pre-Deployment / Site Readiness
- Coordinate with site POC for access and entry
- Verify work location and device availability
- Ensure laptop, tools, and connectivity readiness
- Confirm console cable compatibility with devices
2.2 Onsite Execution
A. Console Access Setup
- Connect to network device using USB console cable (FortiGate compatible)
- Establish console session via PuTTY or terminal client
- Configure appropriate COM port settings
- Verify successful connectivity to device console
B. Remote Access Enablement
- Share console session with remote team (Infosys)
- Provide required physical support during login activity
- Assist in troubleshooting connectivity issues (if any)
- Ensure stable session until completion
Note: All login/configuration activities will be performed by the Infosys team.
2.3 Support Activities
- Basic cable management (if required)
- Ensure proper physical connections and power status
- Assist in reconnecting console if session drops
2.4 Testing & Validation
- Confirm successful console access and login
- Validate device accessibility from remote team
- Ensure no hardware or connectivity issues remain
2.5 Documentation & Handover
- Capture activity status and observations
- Report any issues or deviations
- Share completion confirmation with stakeholders
3. Mandatory Tools to be Carried
Onsite engineer must carry the following:
- Laptop with admin rights & console access capability
- USB console cable (FortiGate compatible)
- Screwdriver set
- LAN cables
- LAN tester
- Webex access (for coordination)
- Pen drive
4. Roles & Responsibilities
Onsite Engineer
- Perform physical connectivity and console setup
- Provide hands & feet support
- Coordinate with remote team
Infosys Team
- Perform login and configuration activities
- Guide onsite engineer during troubleshooting
5. Assumptions
- Device and power availability at site
- Required credentials will be shared separately
- Remote team availability during scheduled window
6. Out of Scope
- Device configuration or changes
- Network design or troubleshooting beyond console access
- Hardware replacement or installation
7. Deliverables
- Successful console access established
- Remote login completed by Infosys
- Activity completion confirmation report
