Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN).
- Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Implement and support network security policies, ACLs, IDS/IPS, and VPNs.
- Manage WAN optimization, SD-WAN, and cloud networking (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Monitor network performance, capacity planning, and proactively resolve bottlenecks.
- Conduct root cause analysis of complex network issues and outages.
- Implement automation for configuration management and network monitoring.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Security, Cloud, Infrastructure, DevOps).
- Ensure compliance with security and industry standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI-DSS).
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design/architecture reviews.
Technical Skills (Must-Have Tough Requirements)
Networking & Protocols
- Deep expertise in Routing (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, IS-IS).
- Strong knowledge of Switching (VLANs, STP, VTP, EtherChannel, QoS).
- Experience with Network Load Balancers (F5, Citrix Netscaler, HAProxy).
- Solid experience in IPv4/IPv6, NAT, DNS, DHCP, ARP, ICMP.
Security & Firewalls
- Hands-on with Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point firewalls.
- Strong knowledge of VPNs (IPSec, SSL), Zero Trust, and NAC (Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass).
- Experience with IDS/IPS, SIEM (Splunk, QRadar, ELK Stack).
Wireless & WAN
- Expertise in Enterprise Wi-Fi (Cisco, Aruba, Meraki).
- Experience with WAN, MPLS, SD-WAN (Viptela, Silver Peak, Versa, Fortinet).
Automation & Monitoring
- Proficiency in Python, Ansible, or Go for network automation.
- Hands-on with Nagios, SolarWinds, Zabbix, PRTG, NetFlow, SNMP.
- Familiarity with NetDevOps, Git, CI/CD for network deployments.
Cloud & Virtual Networking
- Experience with AWS VPC, Transit Gateway, Azure Virtual WAN, GCP Networking.
- Knowledge of Virtual Switches (VMware NSX, Cisco ACI, Open vSwitch).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 7-10 years of proven experience as a Network Engineer in enterprise/global environments.
- Preferred Certifications:
Cisco CCNP or CCIE (Routing & Switching, Security, DC, or Enterprise)
Juniper JNCIP/JNCIE
Aruba ACMP/ACMX
AWS/Azure Networking Specialty
