Network & Firewall Engineer (Palo Alto Specialist)

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, manage, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, routing, switching, VPN, and network security solutions.
• Configure and administer Palo Alto firewalls, including security policies, NAT, VPNs, and firewall rules.
• Manage Palo Alto Panorama for centralized firewall configuration, monitoring, and policy management.
• Monitor network and firewall performance, identify issues, and implement appropriate optimization and remediation measures.
• Perform firewall rule reviews, policy cleanup, upgrades, migrations, and optimization in line with security and compliance requirements.
• Conduct network and firewall audits, risk assessments, vulnerability reviews, and support security incident response activities.
• Troubleshoot complex network connectivity, routing, firewall, and security-related issues across enterprise environments.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, Cloud, and IT teams to deliver secure and reliable connectivity across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Support network and firewall projects, upgrades, migrations, and technology implementations.
• Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, configuration records, and operational procedures.
• Provide technical support, knowledge transfer, and guidance to team members.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience in Network & Firewall Engineering within enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, VLANs, routing, switching, LAN/WAN, and VPN technologies.
• Proven hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including configuration, troubleshooting, security policies, NAT, VPN, and Panorama.
• Good understanding of network security, IDS/IPS, threat prevention, traffic analysis, and security best practices.
• Experience with firewall migrations, upgrades, rule reviews, and security policy optimization.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex network and firewall issues.
• Experience working with enterprise-scale network infrastructure and security environments.
• Knowledge of cloud networking and security across AWS, Azure, or GCP is an advantage.
• Experience with Fortinet, Check Point, or Cisco Meraki is desirable.
• PCNSA or PCNSE certification is highly desirable.
• Strong communication, documentation, stakeholder management, and teamwork skills.
