Roles and Responsibilities
. Perform daily storage and data management system monitoring by using NetApp monitoring tools together.
Review the emails alerts and AIQ reports.
. Actively contributes to documentation, ensuring processes and technical standards are clearly defined and consistently updated. Proactively identify and implement improvements in processes, procedures, and technologies to enhance efficiency and reliability.
. Provisioning of SAN and NAS, including SAN Switch Zoning. Perform capacity management, optimization and sustainable operations in the allocation and utilization of infrastructure resources
. Participates in preventive maintenance.
. Serve as an escalation point for advanced technical issues, collaborating with internal teams and vendor support to achieve timely resolutions. Assist with technical support matters in cooperation with a Technical Support Engineer when required.
. Perform Clustered ONTAP and firmware upgrades and recommendations, including SAN switches
. Participates in a weekly or bi-weekly project status meeting
. PM and PS coordination for any potential projects
. Participates in scheduled SAM review. Coordinate with SAM for any P1 issue.
. Participate in the Customer's change management meetings, if required
Core Competencies:
. NetApp FAS/AFF with cluster interconnect switches
. Advanced understanding of storage protocols such as CIFS, NFS, iSCSI, and NVMe.
. Unified Manager, LogicMonitor, System Manager and Cloud Insight (now known as DII).
. Perform compatibility checks using Interoperability Matrix Tool (IMT) for Hardware supportability
. Perform deployment from rack/stack to cluster management setup
. Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex storage issues
. Solid understanding of supporting technologies, including
o Networking fundamentals and architecture
o Server platforms and virtualization such as VMware ESXi and HyperVisor
o Basic system administration, e.g. CentOS, Ubuntu, or Red Hat and Windows
. Good understanding of ITSM, Change Management and Incident Management.
