Job Description

Primary Objectives of Position

  • Lead teams of Senior/Assistant Engineers and Senior/Technicians to carry out scheduled Preventive Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance on Electric Trains/Engineering Vehicles/Component/Equipment to meet the daily production requirement.
  • Ensure teams comply with all CM and PM works and related tasks with approved work instructions, quality procedures, safety and operational procedures, and good maintenance standards.
  • Plan and coordinate within teams and other sections to complete the assigned maintenance tasks within established standard time.
  • Ensure the teams have the necessary qualifications and authorization to carry out daily tasks and any assigned tasks.
  • Attend necessary skills courses to be able to carry out maintenance and assigned tasks.
  • Responsible for the safety, welfare and discipline of the teams. environment
  • Responsible for the prudent expenditure of requirement

Major Responsibilities

  • Responsible for teams quality and standards of the PM/CM works within the established standards time and in accordance to the Work Instructions and related procedures to meet the daily production
  • Exercise safety always and in accordance to established safety procedures. Responsible for the safety of self and all co-workers, inclusive of contractors.
  • Demonstrate strong ability in diagnostic and troubleshooting electro[1]mechanical systems.
  • Able to forecast and plan the resources needed by the teams to complete maintenance tasks and assigned tasks timely.
  • Conduct regular engagement sessions with the teams to understand the teams better and to feedback on their performance.
  • Be familiar of the RS training, qualifications and authorization to ensure all staff are adequately trained and authorized to support daily production requirement such as number of Train Driver/Shunter, overhead crane operator, forklift driver etc.
  • Responsible for the regular housekeeping and cleaning tasks at the workplace, ensuring workplace order and hygiene.
  • Understand all HR policies in particularly the shift system, leave entitlement, allowances, benefits and discipline as well as the MOM guidelines and the Collective Agreement to ensure all staff are in compliance.
  • Undertake any other tasks or functions that are incidental or ancillary to the performance of the works assigned.
  • Develop and maintain the section budget
  • Perform and standby for company and department duty schedule such as PST, EIC, AEIC or Rerailment duty.

The above activities are no means exhaustive and are subjected to amendment whenever is needed.

Specific Safety Responsibilities

  • Ensure all work is undertaken in a safe way during all maintenance activities.
  • Investigate safety incidents that have occurred on train and clear them when appropriate action has been taken.

Job Specifications

Minimum Education / Qualifications

  • Recognized Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering from a reputable university.

Minimum Years of Relevant Experience

  • Preferably at least 3 years of post-graduate working experience with 2 years of relevant working experience in railway environment.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Good knowledge in electrical, electronic, air-conditioning, mechanical and pneumatic systems of electric train.
  • Good Fault-Finding Skills.
  • Knowledge on Diagnostic Software packages.
