The client of ours is a globally recognized boat manufacturer, known for innovation, durability, and performance. As part of their strategic growth, they are establishing their Professional Rescue & Tactical Division, dedicated to serving government and public safety sectors including law enforcement, fire services, and rescue organizations.
They are now looking for a Naval Architect to be based in Singapore. This is a unique opportunity to play a foundational role in building the business presence in Singapore and shaping a new division focused on mission-critical vessels. You will be involved in the design, engineering, and development of professional grade vessels, supporting both new builds and modifications of existing platforms. The role requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external design partners to deliver high-performance, compliant, and mission-ready boats.
Key Responsibilities:-
Vessel Design & Development
- Contribute to the design and development of new professional vessels for government and rescue applications
- Adapt and customize existing boat platforms to meet operational and mission-specific requirements
- Collaborate with external naval architects, design agencies, and engineering partners
- Support the integration of specialized equipment for law enforcement, firefighting, and rescue missions
Engineering & Analysis
- Conduct structural assessments and scantling calculations using tools such as HullScant or similar
- Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to validate structural integrity
- Utilize hydrodynamic and performance prediction software
- Ensure compliance with relevant marine standards, including ISO 12215 and ISO 12217
- 3D Modeling & Documentation
- Create and maintain detailed 3D CAD models of vessels and components
- Produce engineering drawings and technical documentation for manufacturing and certification
- Assist in prototyping, testing, and validation processes
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Participate in technical discussions with external partners and certification authorities
Requirements:-
- Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Hands-on experience performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software
- Experience with naval architecture and analysis tools
- Strong knowledge of marine design standards including ISO 12215 and ISO 12217
- Experience working on professional, commercial, or mission-specific vessels is advantageous
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams
