If you're passionate about ships, cargo, and problem-solving, this role could be for you! We're looking for a Structural / Design Engineer (Marine) to strengthen our team and support complex cargo operations.
What You'll Do:
- Assess vessel hull strength and develop solutions to reinforce structures for heavy/project cargo
- Prepare detailed plans and reports for lashing, stowage, securing, dunnage, and heavy lifting
- Liaise with owners, charterers, shipmasters, and class societies to secure approvals and resolve technical queries
- Provide technical input to the commercial team during vessel evaluations and tenders
- Maintain accurate records, identify cost-saving opportunities, and improve workflows
- Share expertise with the team and support training initiatives
What We're Looking For:
- Diploma/Degree in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Structural/Design Engineer in shipyards or marine engineering
- Proficiency with CAD tools (AutoCAD or similar) and analysis software (e.g., Femap/Nastran)
- Experience in cargo lashing design (e.g., DNV Lashcon) and working knowledge of lifting/rigging
- Solid understanding of vessel stability, cargo loading, welding, and marine structures
- Strong problem-solving skills, able to work independently and collaboratively
- Resilient and calm under pressure, with the ability to handle last-minute demands
