Purpose of the Job:
- Leading a team of engineers to design and develop a nacelle with primary focus on Inlet and Nacelle Anti-Icing Systems (NAIS).
- Knowledge of inlet, NAIS, acoustics technology, composites design and/or computational fluid dynamics would be an added advantage.
- Ensure that the developed nacelle is compliance with regulatory requirements and of high-quality standard.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers.
Key Job Accountabilities:
Technical Leadership:
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including engine manufacturers, customer, suppliers, and other engineering teams, to ensure effective inlet and NAIS design and integration.
- To lead, define, manage and implement inlet and NAIS design requirements, including performance, safety, repairability, maintainability and certification.
- To provide technical guidance to the team to create detailed designs for inlet and NAIS, ensuring project milestones, budget, and timelines are met.
Design and Development:
- To lead the conceptual and detailed design and development of nacelle inlet and NAIS, ensuring they meet performance, safety, repairability, maintainability and regulatory standards for certifications.
- To develop in-house engineering standards and best practices for inlet and NAIS design/development and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industrial standards for certifications.
- To lead and manage the structural design of the inlet and NAIS, including materials selection, stress analysis, and installation interfaces.
- To manage technical risks and design trade-offs to optimize inlet and NAIS performance, reliability, and cost.
- To collaborate with suppliers and partners to select components, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- To prepare project updates, technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders (including regulatory authorities).
Test Planning and Validation:
- To lead, develop, manage and implement testing and validation for inlet and NAIS components and systems, ensuring thorough validation of design solutions.
Continuous Improvement:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on fleet survey, field performance feedback and failure analyses.
Customer Support:
- To lead and provide timely technical repair resolution to customer.
- Review and analyse repair trends; to determine if a design improvement is required.

- Director, Aircraft Engineering Department, Cabin Interiors & Engineering Solutions (CIES)
- Technical Leader for Nacelle Business Group
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Avionics Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 10 to 14 years of extensive engineering technical and project management leadership in inlet and NAIS design, development and testing.
- Experience and having strong knowledge of regulatory requirements on inlet and NAIS
- Familiar with certification of inlet and NAIS.
- Proficient in project management tools and engineering software such as CATIA, Ansys, MSC, etc.
- Excellent leadership, communication, team-work and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient & fluent in spoken and written.
