Job Description

Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that nurtures students curiosity, creativity, and appreciation for music.
Design and deliver engaging, age-appropriate music lessons for students aged 5-11, encouraging active participation in vocal and instrumental music activities.
Apply a range of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs while promoting self-expression, confidence, and holistic development.
Plan, prepare, assess, and evaluate music learning experiences, and collaborate with colleagues in organizing concerts, performances, and school-wide events.
Integrate technology effectively to enhance teaching, learning, assessment, and student engagement.
Provide on-site private peripatetic music lessons, offering individualized instruction outside scheduled part-time teaching hours.
Build positive and productive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents, maintaining clear and effective communication regarding student progress and learning opportunities.

Job Requirements

A recognized degree in Music Education or a related field, along with a valid teaching qualification.
Proven experience teaching primary-aged students (5-11 years), ideally within an international school environment.
Strong expertise in both vocal and instrumental music instruction, with a passion for inspiring young learners to develop a lifelong love of music.
Demonstrated experience in planning and coordinating music performances, showcases, and creative collaborative activities.
Proficiency in using educational technology to support music teaching and learning.
Experience teaching students for whom English is an Additional Language (EAL).
Familiarity with concept-based learning approaches and international curriculum frameworks.
Ability to play multiple musical instruments, particularly piano, and teach a variety of musical styles and genres.
Previous experience delivering private or peripatetic music lessons.
