Music Producer – Freelance (Remote)

An artist is seeking a music producer to help create either a single or an EP. The project is focused on building polished, professional-sounding tracks with clear vocal production. Inspiration comes from indie pop styles, particularly the blend of fuzz and softness in artists like Sombr. The role involves technical production, vocal tuning, and mastering to ensure a refined sound despite limited recording equipment. This is a personal, long-term project in the planning stage, with the work to be completed remotely.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the artist to shape the sound and creative direction of a single or EP
• Record, edit, mix, and master vocal tracks to achieve a polished, professional sound
• Apply autotune, vocal effects, and processing to enhance clarity while keeping an indie aesthetic
• Develop instrumental arrangements aligned with the indie pop style reference (Sombr, etc.)
• Guide the artist on recording best practices using home or basic equipment
• Deliver finished tracks suitable for release on streaming platforms
• Provide creative input while respecting the artists personal vision

Skills and Requirements

• Experience as a music producer with a portfolio of singles or EPs, ideally in indie, pop, or singer-songwriter genres
• Proficiency with digital audio workstations (Ableton, Logic Pro, FL Studio, Pro Tools, or similar)
• Strong skills in vocal editing, autotune, and mastering for professional-quality output
• Ability to create both clean and textured (fuzzy/lo-fi) vocal effects when required
• Knowledge of arrangement, layering, and indie-pop soundscapes
• Strong communication and collaborative skills to work remotely with the artist
• Openness to an ongoing working relationship for future projects
