Music Director

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Programme Director (PD) of the station, the successful incumbent shall:

• Curate and maintain the station's library of music to fine-tune and refresh music database to ensure station relevance.
• Prepare and schedule daily music playlists for all timebelts.
• Researching new music and keeping up with the trends, as well ensuring music played on station adheres to IMDA rules and regulations in terms of suitability.
• Ensure commercial logs, recorded shows, syndicated shows etc are integrated properly for a seamless on-air output.
• Brainstorm and/or initiate music-related promos (on-air) for station with programming team.
• Work closely with Creative Producer for station imaging (trailers, liners and jingles) and which is to be refreshed these once a year as well as ad-hoc station trailers.
• Provide input and lead/assist in music research projects as required
• Establish a good working relationship with music label partners, concert promoters, key partners
• Support/coordinate on air/in person interviews for live/pre-recorded interviews with agencies, label partners, internal stakeholders, clients etc.
• Monitor music charts (Spotify, Apple Music, Billboard, UK charts) as well as social media to ensure station is playing the latest, most up to date songs.

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree Holder in a relevant field
• Tech savvy , meticulous and diligent
• Passionate to make the station sound the best that it can be
• Passion for music and knowledge & interest for current music trends and artistes
• Knowledge of Zetta/ProTools is a plus.
• Good written and verbal communication
• Able to work independently as well as in a team
• Prior experience in the broadcast, music, radio, audio streaming services would be a bonus.
