Music Composer

This role involves composing original music for a full-length, two-hour musical comedy titled Florida Man musical. The story follows a well-meaning but chaotic middle-aged man attempting to become a superhero, accompanied by a cast of colorful characters including his daughter, a barbershop quartet called The Dads, a villainous former mayor, and more. The project includes 12 original songs and 2 reprises, some of which already have melodies needing full musical accompaniment, orchestration, and vocal arrangementincluding 4-part harmonies for the barbershop quartet. The composer will collaborate closely to bring the script and music to life, with remote work and staged payment arrangements.

Requirements

• Experience composing for musical theatre or large-scale musical productions.
• Ability to orchestrate melodies and develop full arrangements across various styles.
• Skilled in vocal arrangement, including 4-part harmonies for ensemble pieces.
• Strong understanding of comedic musical timing and character-driven composition.
• Ability to collaborate remotely on a creative and evolving project.
• Availability to work on a single project with the potential for extended involvement.
