Job Summary
Join Peranakan Mansion as a Museum Ambassador and Assistant to deliver engaging tours, manage visitor services, and support daily museum operations, creating memorable cultural experiences for diverse guests.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and engage visitors warmly to create a hospitable and enriching museum experience
- Lead guided tours sharing Peranakan history, traditions, and stories after training
- Set up, support and conduct workshops, events and activities, including light cleaning after sessions
- Manage visitor services such as dress-up and photography to enhance guest participation
- Perform ticketing, cashier duties, merchandise sales, and basic housekeeping to support daily operations
- Multitask effectively across guest services and operational responsibilities to maintain smooth museum flow
- Collaborate proactively with team members to support a positive and efficient work environment
- Adapt to work schedules including weekends, public holidays, peak periods, and extended hours as needed
Competencies and qualifications
- Interest in heritage, history, and local culture
- Familiarity with Peranakan or Chinese culture is a plus but not required
- Communicate clearly and confidently with diverse visitor groups to ensure understanding and enjoyment
