Murex Test Lead / Senior Murex Test Analyst (MX.3)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Murex (MX.3) Testing Specialist to support large-scale upgrade programs, system integration testing, and regression validation across Global Markets and Core Banking transformation initiatives. The role will focus on ensuring stability, accuracy, and regulatory compliance across trading workflows, risk analytics, downstream integrations, and reporting functions.

The candidate will work closely with Front Office, Quants, Technology, DevOps, and Operations teams in an Agile delivery environment.

Key Mandatory Skills (Must Have)

Strong Hands-on Murex MX.3 Testing Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years hands-on experience supporting Murex testing or functional analyst activities.

Murex Upgrade & Non-Regression Testing Expertise

  • Proven experience executing regression and system integration testing during Murex upgrades, patch deployment, or platform migration.

Capital Markets Product Knowledge

  • Strong functional understanding of FX, Rates, Credit, Fixed Income, Commodities, and derivatives lifecycle.

Front Office & Risk Functional Knowledge

  • Expertise in deal capture, pricing validation, lifecycle management, real-time portfolio monitoring, P&L, Greeks, sensitivities computation, and risk attribution.

Automation & Data Validation Skills

  • Strong experience using SQL, Python, Shell scripting or similar tools for automated data validation and reconciliation testing.

Key Responsibilities

Test Management & Project Delivery

  • Actively participate in Program Increment (PI) planning activities within Agile delivery frameworks.
  • Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive non-regression test suites covering core Murex functionalities including:
  • Trade booking.
  • Pricing validation.
  • Lifecycle events.
  • Real-time portfolio management.
  • P&L and risk analytics.
  • Greeks and sensitivities computation.
  • End-of-Day reporting processes.
  • Design and execute regression testing to validate downstream data flows into Core Banking platforms.
  • Execute structured test plans in collaboration with Business Users, Developers, Quants, and Operations teams during Murex upgrade cycles.
  • Identify functional impacts arising from:
  • Version upgrades.
  • API modifications.
  • Deprecated features.
  • Assess associated risks and recommend mitigation strategies.

Collaboration & Integration Testing

  • Work closely with Murex delivery teams, Core Banking programs, and DevOps teams to validate workflows across asset classes.
  • Utilize Murex-native tools (e.g., MX Test) to streamline automation and testing execution.
  • Coordinate System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
  • Prepare environments, datasets, and expected validation outcomes for business testing.

Defect Management & Validation

  • Document defects and track resolution progress.
  • Validate fixes with internal development and support teams.
  • Support post Go-Live burn-in validation phases.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive continuous improvement of testing methodologies.
  • Increase automation adoption and early defect identification.
  • Identify optimization opportunities to reduce operational risk and improve delivery efficiency.
  • Stay updated on Murex release notes and front-office platform evolution.

Regulatory Responsibilities & Risk Management

  • Demonstrate high standards of integrity, diligence, and professional conduct.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal governance frameworks.
  • Maintain appropriate risk awareness and conflict-of-interest management practices.

Skills & Qualifications

Professional & Technical

  • Minimum 5+ years hands-on experience with Murex (MX.3).
  • Strong experience supporting SIT, UAT, and Non-Regression Testing during upgrades.
  • In-depth understanding of Murex architecture and modules.
  • Strong Front Office workflow knowledge.
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices.
  • Automation scripting experience using SQL, Python, Shell or similar tools.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
