This role sits at the intersection of infrastructure, release management, and platform support — ensuring Murex environments are stable, correctly configured, and ready to support business and project timelines.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience managing Murex MX.3 environments in a banking/financial services setting.
- Solid understanding of Murex architecture: application servers, Datamart, batch scheduler (Autosys/Control-M), MxML, and database layers (Oracle/Sybase).
- Experience with release and version management, including Murex upgrade cycles and patch deployment.
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux administration, shell scripting, and job scheduling tools.
- Working knowledge of SQL for data validation and troubleshooting.
- Experience coordinating across Front Office, Risk, IT Infrastructure, and vendor teams.
- Strong incident management and root cause analysis skills.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes (change, incident, problem management).
Preferred Qualifications
- Murex certification or formal training on MX.3 platform administration.
- Experience with cloud-hosted Murex deployments (AWS/Azure) or Murex-managed hosting.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (Jenkins, Ansible) for environment provisioning.
- Prior experience supporting large-scale Murex upgrade or migration projects.
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end management of Murex MX.3 environments (Dev, SIT, UAT, Pre-Prod, Prod, DR).
- Plan and execute environment refreshes, builds, and configuration synchronization across landscapes.
- Manage Murex releases, patches, and version upgrades, coordinating with vendor (Murex), infrastructure, and functional teams.
- Coordinate environment scheduling and availability for project releases, testing cycles, and business-as-usual (BAU) activities.
- Monitor system health, batch processing (EOD/SOD), and performance across environments; troubleshoot and resolve incidents.
- Manage Murex Datamart, MxML/Connectivity Manager interfaces, and database (Oracle/Sybase) configurations relevant to environment setup.
- Maintain environment documentation: architecture diagrams, configuration baselines, environment calendars, and access matrices.
- Collaborate with infrastructure/DevOps teams on server provisioning, capacity planning, and cloud/on-prem deployment (as applicable).
- Support disaster recovery testing and business continuity planning for Murex platform.
- Manage environment access control, security configurations, and audit compliance.
- Coordinate UAT/regression testing support by ensuring environments reflect required data, configuration, and market data setups.
- Act as primary liaison with Murex vendor support for environment-related tickets and escalations.
