Job Description
Position
In a challenging and multicultural environment, we are looking for a Senior MS BI / MS SQL Developer to join a IT team in charge of Client Referential, Compliance, Risk or Finance. The team handles the development of transversal and international projects.
Main responsibilities
SSRS, SSAS Development:
- Design, develop, and deploy interactive and paginated reports using SSRS.
- Optimize reports for performance and maintainability.
- Optimizing and maintenance of SSAS projects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver customized reporting solutions.
- Perform non-functional testing
SSIS Development:
- Design and develop robust ETL workflows using SSIS to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
- Monitor and troubleshoot SSIS packages for performance and error resolution.
- Implement data quality and validation checks during ETL processes.
- Data Management & Analysis:
- Design and optimize database schemas to support BI solutions.
- Develop complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for reporting and ETL purposes.
- Perform data profiling and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Knowledge in all other SQL server objects such as functions, views, synonyms, etc.
Collaboration & Documentation:
- Work closely with business analysts, data analysts, and other developers to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Document technical designs, workflows, and user guides for BI solutions.
Performance Optimization:
- Conduct performance tuning of SSRS reports, SSIS packages, and SQL queries.
- Ensure efficient and scalable BI solutions that handle growing datasets.
- Leadership and Project Management
- Communicate and collaborate with architects, stakeholders, business, and project managers to gather requirements and define technical solution
- Develops detailed technical work plans, estimates, improvement plans and status reports
- Perform regular peer-reviews, maintain low technical debts, assess & up-skill junior staffs
- Take ownership and leadership of medium-size projects (500 MDs)
- Able to mentor / guide Junior Devs or Team members on the technical and project knowledge acquired
Prepare KPI and report to transverse project manager and management about the
projects in your scope.
Contribute to initiatives managed at department level (continuous improvement,
innovation)
BAU
- Provide L3 Support on applications - analyze and resolve issues as they arise
- Maintain existing BI solutions / ETL pipelines and propose continuous improvements
- Ability to design appropriate solution and Challenge and Recommend solutions as per the business needs in compliant to CACIB standards
- Ensure the respect of CACIB code of conduct and compliance rules within the team
Qualifications and Profile
Work Experience
- At least 8 years of work experience in leading Microsoft BI projects, including SSRS, SSIS, and SQL Server.
- Strong proficiency in T-SQL, including query optimization and stored procedures.
- Hands-on experience with ETL processes and data integration using SSIS.
- Good exposure and usage experience in CI/CD tools / processes
- Expertise in designing and developing reports using SSRS.
- Strong knowledge of relational database concepts and best practices.
- Familiarity with data warehousing principles and dimensional modelling.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Technical
- Relational databases - MSSQL
- SSIS, SSRS, SSAS
- PowerShell, Power BI and other Microsoft technologies (.Net, .Net Core, C#) are a plus.
- Good to have knowledge or experience with Apache Spark SQL
- Build management using TFS or Nexus
- Workload automation and scheduling tools such as CTRL-M is a plus
Functional
- Experience in Compliance, Capital Markets or Market Abuse Domain is required
- Experience in Enterprise Wide Risk Assessment is a plus
