Job description:
As a Mobility Strategy & Corporate Development (MSCD) intern, you will work at the intersection of strategy, data, and technology, supporting the team that shapes the medium- to long-term direction of the Abdul Latif Jameel Mobility sector. This role is ideal for candidates with strong coding and data skills who are excited to apply them to real-world strategic questions. Your responsibilities may include, both in a supporting and leading role:
Market Intelligence, Data and Strategic Analysis
- Conduct market research on trends, players, and new business models across the mobility sector (e.g., automotive retail, electric vehicles, new mobility solutions)
- Collect, clean, and analyse data using Python, SQL, or other tools to build scrapers, models, and datasets for strategic insights
- Prepare structured datasets to feed dashboards, analysis, and decision-making — ensuring data is accurate, reliable, and up-to-date
Data Visualisation & Technical Storytelling
- Design and maintain interactive dashboards (e.g., Tableau/Power BI) to track real-time market metrics — automating data pulls from public APIs, GDS feeds, or internal sources for dynamic, interactive views that update automatically and allow leadership to drill down by segment/region
- Support executive presentations and strategic materials by translating analysis into clear, insight-driven visuals and concise narratives
- Automate recurring reports and reduce manual effort to make data more accessible for decision-making
Internal Portfolio and Performance Review
- Support the annual strategy cycle, working with business units to review and refine strategic plans
- Create performance trackers, cohort analyses, or forecasting models using business unit data — including dashboards for KPI monitoring (e.g., sales velocity, margin trends, inventory turns)
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Finance, HR, SBUs) to gather data or insights
- Interpret operational performance to highlight trends and provide actionable insights for business units

Requirements:
- Currently pursuing/completed an undergraduate degree, ideally penultimate or final year
- Preferably candidates with technical foundation: Preferably majoring in Computer Science, Data Science/Analytics, or related fields; interest in Business or strategy encouraged (e.g., coursework, case competitions, consulting clubs)
- Technical proficiency:
- Coding: Python/R, SQL for data extraction and manipulation
- Analytics: Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VBA), Tableau/Power BI for dashboards/visuals
- Presentations: PowerPoint for executive storytelling from data insights
- Business acumen: Familiarity with strategy frameworks (e.g., Porter's Five Forces, market sizing, competitive analysis) alongside technical skills
- Experience in mobility, tech, or data-driven industries is a plus
- Rapidly learn complex domains and translate technical analysis into strategic recommendations
- Strong communication: Bridge technical findings with business decisions
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities
