Position Overview
As the Senior Manager - Software Engineering (Mobile Applications), you will lead the mobile application development team, focusing on the design, development, and deployment of innovative mobile solutions across multiple platforms for the ASEAN region. You will oversee frontend development initiatives and manage a cross-functional team of software engineers based in Vietnam, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical standards.
You will play a key role in building mobile and web applications using modern frameworks such as React, React Native, and Flutter, while integrating these applications with IoT systems and backend services.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Team Management
- Lead a team of software engineers responsible for developing mobile and web applications for the ASEAN region.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Oversee team performance through regular reviews and support career development, skill enhancement, and knowledge sharing.
- Drive continuous improvement by enforcing best practices, coding standards, and agile methodologies.
2. Mobile Application Development
- Lead the development of cross-platform mobile applications using React Native and Flutter.
- Develop and maintain intuitive, user-friendly interfaces across web and mobile platforms.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers to implement engaging and visually appealing user experiences.
- Integrate IoT functionalities into mobile applications, ensuring seamless synchronization with backend systems.
3. Technical Leadership & Project Oversight
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for frontend technologies, particularly React, React Native, and Flutter.
- Provide technical leadership, architectural guidance, and hands-on support to the engineering team.
- Manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure successful execution.
- Ensure applications are scalable, secure, and optimized for performance.
- Conduct code reviews and technical audits to maintain high standards of quality and reliability.
4. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with backend developers, IoT teams, QA teams, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth system integration.
- Partner with product managers to define feature requirements and align development priorities with business goals.
- Support rigorous testing processes and ensure timely product releases.
5. Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated on the latest trends in mobile development, IoT integration, and frontend technologies.
- Introduce new tools, technologies, and development methodologies to improve productivity, software quality, and user experience.
Requirements
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or relevant certification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Work Experience
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on mobile application development using React, React Native, and Flutter.
- Proven experience leading and managing frontend engineering teams, preferably in mobile application development.
- Experience integrating IoT systems and collaborating with backend teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Strong understanding of web technologies, frontend architecture, and mobile product development.
Technical Skills
- Expertise in React, React Native, Flutter, and cross-platform development frameworks.
- Experience managing the full mobile application lifecycle, including testing, release management, and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with backend technologies and cloud services, including REST APIs and cloud deployment environments.
- Solid understanding of IoT communication protocols and mobile-to-IoT integrations.
