Position Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
Master's Degree in relevant field preferred
Teaching license or a degree in education
At least two years of full-time teaching experience preferred
Standards-based curriculum experience preferred
Excellent verbal and written English language skills
Confident technology skills for teaching and administrative tasks

A passion for music
Strong background in string pedagogy
Conducting skills
Experience with or sound knowledge of NCAS arts standards and willingness to adapt curriculum
Experience teaching in a school setting, with the ability to manage and differentiate instruction for a classroom of up to 24 students with varying levels of strings proficiency
Kodaly background preferred
Experience using music technology like Garageband, Sibelius, Smartmusic
Provide opportunities for AMIS festival experiences
Plan, prepare, co-teach and/or collaborate with secondary Performing Arts departments on courses, performances, concerts, and/or opportunities for sharing learning with an audience.
Working Requirements
Required attendance at school professional learning days
Chaperone and participate in evening and/or weekend school activities each year, as assigned (including Back-to-School Night).
