Job Summary
Serve as a technical domain expert to design, develop, and support software solutions using Agile and waterfall methodologies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance application quality, automate testing, and leverage AI tools for development efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance on system architecture, business logic, and historical design decisions to support team understanding and development continuity
- Design and develop software solutions following waterfall and Agile methodologies to meet business requirements
- Investigate and troubleshoot system issues by developing scripts and SQL queries to identify root causes and implement fixes
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and Quality Engineers to elaborate user stories, automate tests, and resolve bugs effectively
- Coordinate with deployment and DevOps teams to establish continuous integration, build, and release automation pipelines
- Estimate story effort during sprint planning to support Agile project delivery timelines
- Convert acceptance criteria into automated unit test cases to ensure software quality and reliability
- Support production environments and participate in after-hours duty rotation to maintain system availability
- Champion Agile technical practices including test-driven development, pair programming, and code refactoring to improve code quality
- Participate in application deployments across various environments to ensure smooth releases
- Work closely with vendors to integrate third-party solutions, ensuring compatibility and performance
- Provide technical support and guidance to stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making
- Apply AI coding tools such as Copilot and Coder AI to enhance development, testing, and code review processes
- Use automation to improve efficiency in build, test, and deployment activities, reducing manual effort and errors
- Leverage AI assistance to improve code quality through refactoring, defect resolution, and documentation enhancement
- Demonstrate openness to adopting new AI and automation tools that improve work outcomes and productivity
Required competencies and certifications
- Microsoft Certified Solution Developer certification or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in software development
- Strong proficiency in .NET, SharePoint, and cloud development technologies
- Proven experience with both waterfall and Agile software development methodologies
- Experience in Document Management Systems
- Strong troubleshooting skills across system and application levels to resolve complex issues
- Experience in stakeholder management and vendor coordination to ensure project alignment
- Excellent project management and organizational skills to deliver projects on time
- Demonstrated ability in automated testing methodologies including unit, integration, and functional testing
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Certified Software Testing Professional or Software Quality Analyst certification
- Experience with Web development and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- Knowledge of build automation tools such as MSBuild, Maven, and Docker
- Experience with test-driven development (TDD) and behavior-driven development (BDD) practices
- Experience in large-scale SharePoint migrations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address technical challenges
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment
- Good time management and prioritization skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Adaptability to changing requirements and emerging technologies
- Prior experience applying AI and automation tools in software development projects
