Role Description
We are looking for a Microfluidics Process Optimization Intern to support the testing, operation, and optimization of our microfluidic platforms and workflows. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on experimentation, problem-solving, and working closely with both hardware and biological systems in a fast-paced startup environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate and test microfluidic devices and integrated systems
- Run assays and experimental protocols according to established procedures
- Collect, organize, and analyse experimental and performance data
- Support troubleshooting and optimization of system workflows and processes
- Identify inconsistencies, performance bottlenecks, and improvement
opportunities
- Assist with validation and verification testing of prototype systems
- Document experimental procedures, results, and technical observations
- Work closely with the team to improve reliability, repeatability, and usability of
systems
- Support development of SOPs and testing methodologies
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences or related fields
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable with hands-on laboratory or hardware testing work
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt in a startup environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with laboratory assays, diagnostics, or experimental workflows
- Exposure to microfluidics, medical devices, or laboratory instrumentation
- Familiarity with Excel, Python, MATLAB, or data analysis tools
- Understanding of statistics, DOE, or process optimization methodologies
