Job Description:

  • Originate and manage a pipeline of prospective investors and acquirers across Singapore and international markets, leveraging an existing network to secure qualified introductions and meetings for client mandates.
  • Assess investor–opportunity fit and prepare pitch decks, information memorandam, and presentations for senior stakeholders.
  • Lead M&A engagements end-to-end including target screening, valuation, deal structuring, negotiation, due diligence, and closing focused on cross-border deals (USD10–100 million) involving Southeast Asian clients or Japanese clients with Southeast Asian interests.
  • Develop and review financial models and valuations (DCF, comparables, precedent transactions), including complex modeling for multi-class structures, multi-jurisdictional operations, start-ups, and tech businesses, to value companies, equity, and other assets for M&A, restructuring, and reporting purposes.
  • Prepare forecasts and scenario analyses for acquisitions and restructurings, assessing key assumptions and validating them through field research such as site visits and stakeholder interviews.
  • Analyze financial and market data to provide recommendations directly to the client's CEO.
  • Ensure transactions comply with applicable regulations and align with client objectives, collaborating with Japan-based teams and external advisors.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, Banking & Finance, Economics or equivalent
  • At least one professional qualification in finance/accounting/CFA/FRM
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in transaction services or corporate finance field with a good understanding of corporate finance is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working for MNCs and listed companies is required (as for the consultancy job career, minimum 2 years of experience assisting similar companies)
  • Experience of working overseas, or educational background graduated from an overseas university is strongly advantageous. As this company's position within the Group is at the forefront of helping clients expand overseas from their home country to other markets, it is strongly recommended that all consultants in this unit have worked or studied abroad for an extended period outside their home country as part of their career.
  • Able to converse in Mandarin language to negotiations with client, Mandarin-speaking business owners in Singapore and South-East Asia
  • Able to converse in Japanese language with Japanese-speaking clients, and for roles as project managers/managers.
  • Able to attend Business Trip to ASEAN or Southeast Asia (typically 1-2 times per month)
  • Strong quantitative skills with an understanding of financial statements
