Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

Procurement

. Be responsible for the control, management and procurement functions of all non-perishable products

. Work closely with the outlets and vendors on all replenishment activities, product range, promotions mechanics and pricing

. Negotiate with vendors regarding terms, conditions and margins to create a competitive edge

. Analyse the performance of stock and promotions to determine the effectiveness of the product assortment and promotion strategy to drive market share and increase revenue

. Monitor and manage warehouse inventory, including stock rebalancing between outlets, managing cost and turnover of inventory

. Implement FIFO to ensure product freshness and check on near expired stocks regularly to minimize trade returns and wastage

. Provide regular feedback on the sales performance of our product, store and display issues, and competitors activities to Management

. Source for new products based on purchasing behavior of our target market, current trends and forecasted trends

Merchandising

. Ensure optimal sales performance for products using visual merchandising techniques to boost average transaction value

. Create visual merchandising elements to showcase our plant range, and to create more synergy between our plants and non-perishable products

. Work with marketing team to create holistic online to offline marketing campaigns to increase revenue and manage stock as required

. Ensure prompt set up of promo display, update of all POS materials and pricing display at the right place and right promo window

. Ensure that the products on the display shelves are in the correct price with minimum OOS issues in the outlets.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in retail merchandising, sourcing and purchasing, and price-setting
  • Possess a firm understanding of margins, cost structures, balancing profitability with competitiveness
  • Should display strong interpersonal/communication skills, customer awareness, and understanding
  • Be organized, methodical and efficient
  • Be able to work independently as well as part of a team effectively
  • Keen willingness to learn
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Experience in ERP/ SAP software will be an added advantage
  • Minimum qualification of a diploma in any field
  • Must be able to read/ write in simple Chinese and possess conversational Mandarin skills as the candidate will be dealing with Chinese suppliers
  • Display a flair for trendspotting, is innovative, possesses good business judgment and acumen
  • Ideally, candidate should be passionate about plants and gardening in general

Working Days & Timing

Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 5:00pm

Saturday: 8:00am -12:00pm
