The Position

The Merchandising Executive will be supporting the Head of Merchandising. The Merchandising Executive will need to have good inter-personal and communication skills, be independent and resourceful.

Job Responsibilities:-

  • Identify third party suppliers, build proficiency, negotiate prices via third party purchasing
  • Coordinate with third party providers to expedite parts delivery and resolve operational issues
  • Prepare weekly/monthly updates, reports to management.
  • Proactively review backorder reports working with suppliers to expedite purchase orders & ensure on-time delivery of merchandise
  • Responsible for sales, margins & inventory control
  • Analyze business, develop strategies to achieve sales and profit objectives
  • Plan and identify opportunity to reduce total cost and any other costs to meet business objective
  • Monitor purchase order and incoming delivery to guarantee continuous supply to support operation
  • Responsible for the overall management of supplier performance measured by optimal inventory levels
  • Analyze and implement supply chain initiatives to meet key performance indices e.g. reduce stock-out/ inventory reduction/turns improvement to suppliers
  • Plan merchandising budget, procurement of merchandise and merchandise mix
  • Accountable for sales performance, pricing, inventory, buying, merchandising, allocation, grouping, markdowns and credit control
  • Maintain stock level of products at retail outlet shelf space and ensure complete/sufficient ranging of stock
  • Act as an advisory role in decision making of pricing, lead time and quality prior to Management's decision
  • Research, evaluate potential suppliers and develop new vendors in accordance to company's SOP
  • Maintain database - update and file all stock requisitions, quotations and purchase orders as per company's SOP
  • Keep abreast of market/price situation and conduct regular price comparison
  • Perform other duties assigned or as instructed by the manager

Job Requirements:-

  • Minimum 2 years working experience in imports and exports and buying of computer accessories or consumer electronic products
  • Minimum Diploma in related discipline / relevant certificate
  • Good inter-personal and communication skills are necessary
  • Ability to work with suppliers at all levels
  • Independent, resourceful, takes initiative to solve problems
  • Good analytical skills are strongly desired
