Job Summary
You will conduct and manage molecular diagnostic testing, ensuring accurate specimen processing, instrument operation, and quality control to deliver reliable results that support healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and process collected specimens accurately, adhering to quality control standards to ensure reliable analysis
- Conduct diagnostic tests including PCR and Next Generation Sequencing to generate precise laboratory results
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments such as sequencers, thermal cyclers, and automated analyzers to ensure optimal performance
- Enter test results accurately into computer systems and maintain organized records of tests, procedures, and patient data
- Perform quality control checks on equipment and testing procedures to maintain accuracy and reliability of results
- Calibrate laboratory equipment regularly to guarantee precision in test outcomes
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to test results, equipment malfunctions, or laboratory processes promptly
- Analyze and interpret test results and report findings clearly and timely to healthcare professionals
- Follow established safety protocols to maintain a safe laboratory environment
- Comply with regulatory standards set by the Ministry of Health and accreditation bodies such as CAP
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Medical Technology, or related science discipline
- Minimum 1 year of relevant laboratory experience
- Proficiency in basic molecular techniques applied in diagnostic testing
- Ability to work independently with responsibility and reliability
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
- Meticulous attention to detail and passion for quality laboratory work
- Willing to work 5.5 day week
