Medical Laboratory Technologist (Healthcare)

Job Highlights:

• Location: West Region

• 5.5-day work week (42 hours), with staggered start times

• Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

• Saturday: 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM

• Salary Range: Up to $5,000 + AWS + VB

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Laboratory Technologist to support clinical laboratory operations within a healthcare setting. This role involves performing laboratory tests, handling patient specimens, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting of results.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient registration, specimen reception, preparation, and packing

• Conduct laboratory testing (e.g. urine microscopy, full blood count, HbA1c)

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments according to procedures

• Perform point-of-care testing, phlebotomy, ECG, and spirometry

• Verify and report accurate test results in a timely manner, including investigation of anomalies

• Carry out daily quality control checks and maintain proper documentation for traceability

• Assist with patient queries and escalate issues when necessary

• Adhere to safety, infection control, and regulatory guidelines

• Support operational and administrative tasks as required

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, or related discipline

• Prior experience in a clinical laboratory setting is advantageous training will be provided

• Experience in phlebotomy or sample collection is an advantage

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Basic computer literacy (e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
