We are seeking a results-driven communications professional with excellent strategic insight to deliver consistent, high-impact media coverage across the UK in support of an IT consulting firm and its portfolio of named brands. This role will play a key part in shaping and advancing brand messaging, positioning, and visibility across priority topics, thought leadership, campaigns, and subject-matter experts.
This is a contract position that will work closely with the UK and Ireland media team.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a excellent understanding of key issues and trends influencing the business, with a particular focus on the creative services and technology consulting industry.
- Take a proactive approach to securing top-tier trade media coverage aligned to brand priorities and content.
- Translate complex topics into clear, compelling, and concise messages, supported by excellent writing and editing capabilities.
- Apply creativity and initiative to deliver meaningful media outcomes.
- Operate effectively within a matrixed organisation, supporting collaboration and teamwork across teams.
- Advise and support senior leaders on media relations strategies and messaging.
- Partner with internal teams to execute integrated campaigns and programmes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent tertiary qualification
- 68 years of agency or in-house experience in public relations or corporate communications, ideally within the creative, marketing, or IT consulting industry.
- Proven experience building good working relationships and providing strategic counsel to senior leadership.
- Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and teamwork in a professional environment.
- Experience using media measurement tools and applying relevant tactics and capabilities.
Knowledge And Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to produce a wide range of high-quality media materials efficiently, including press releases, media Q&As, pitches, bylined articles, and op-eds.
- In-depth knowledge of the UK media landscape, with a good track record in media relationsparticularly within creative, marketing, or technology trade publications.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and their role in communications.
- Experience supporting major industry events.
- Ability to engage effectively with media, clients, ecosystem partners, third-party organisations, and vendors.
- Excellent project management and reporting capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
