Key Responsibilities (Hands-on & Practical)
- Robotic Assembly & Integration: Physically build, assemble, and integrate robotic platforms, including mechanical structures, enclosures, and sensor mounts.
- Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Identify and diagnose hardware malfunctions, electrical connectivity issues, and mechanical failures in both indoor and outdoor robots.
- Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine maintenance and hands-on repairs to ensure high operational uptime and robot reliability.
- Structural Optimization: Use SolidWorks to refine and optimize existing mechanical structures for better durability, weight distribution, or ease of assembly based on troubleshooting feedback.
- Prototyping & CAD: Design custom brackets, fixtures, or protective housings in SolidWorks and manage the transition from digital design to physical part.
- Wiring & Electrical Support: Handle internal cable management, basic soldering, and electrical component installation.
- Field Testing Support: Assist the team during deployment and test runs provide on-site technical support and immediate hardware fixes
Requirement:
Current University Undergraduates (Year 1-4) majoring in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering.
Pre-University / Prospective University Students (e.g., A-Level/IB/Diploma graduates) seeking high-impact industry experience before starting their degree.
1. Technical Skills
Proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modeling and 2D engineering drawings) is essential.
Strong hands-on ability: Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and basic workshop equipment.
- Logical thinking for troubleshooting mechanical and basic electrical systems.
- Note: Programming or software development skills are a bonus, but NOT a core requirement.
2. Core Soft Skills (Critical)
- Work Attitude: A can-do spirit resilient and willing to solve hardware issues in various environments (lab or outdoors).
- Learning Ability: A fast learner who can quickly grasp mechanical assembly techniques and safety protocols.
- Communication & Coordination: Clear and proactive communication ability to coordinate effectively with engineering and operations teams.
- Meticulousness: High attention to detail to ensure all mechanical and electrical connections meet safety standards.
