Our client, a reputable M&E engineering contractor, is seeking an experienced and technically strong
Mechanical Manager to lead mechanical works across A&A projects. The ideal candidate will possess solid hands-on technical expertise, strong project leadership capabilities, and experience supervising site activities. Experience in
laboratory projects will be considered a strong advantage.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all mechanical engineering works for A&A projects, ensuring technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and high-quality delivery.
- Review mechanical design drawings, specifications, method statements, and technical submissions to ensure correctness and constructability.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise site activities, ensuring smooth project execution and adherence to project timelines.
- Work closely with consultants, project managers, subcontractors, and clients to resolve technical issues and maintain project progress.
- Conduct site inspections, testing & commissioning, troubleshooting, and quality assessments of mechanical systems.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9000, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and internal quality and safety procedures.
- Prepare technical reports, progress documentation, and audit records to support compliance and internal reviews.
- Participate in risk assessments, develop method statements, and support internal audits as a certified ISO Internal Quality Auditor.
- Identify technical risks, propose solutions, and drive continuous improvements in mechanical works and project efficiencies.
- Support procurement by reviewing mechanical equipment specifications and evaluating technical suitability.
Requirements
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 3 years of relevant managerial experience in an M&E contracting environment, with strong technical exposure to A&A projects.
- Knowledge of ISO 9000, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
- Certified ISO Internal Quality Auditor.
- Completed Building Construction Safety Supervisor (BCSS) Course.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, installation methods, and modification works.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
Preferred
- Experience in laboratory-related projects, including cleanrooms, lab HVAC systems, or specialized mechanical installations.
- Background in building services, industrial facilities, or commercial project environments.
- Familiarity with construction safety, quality control, and engineering best practices for mechanical works.
