Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Engineering Technician to support construction projects by assisting in installation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.
Responsibilities
- Assist in installing, testing, and commissioning mechanical systems such as HVAC, piping, and fire protection to meet project specifications
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications to guide accurate on-site mechanical work
- Conduct routine inspections and troubleshoot mechanical equipment and systems to maintain operational efficiency
- Monitor site progress to ensure mechanical works comply with project requirements and schedules
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and authorities to facilitate smooth mechanical system installation and compliance
- Enforce workplace safety regulations and quality standards during all mechanical construction activities
- Prepare detailed reports, documentation, and records of mechanical work completed for project tracking
- Support engineers by identifying and resolving technical issues encountered during construction
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Diploma or NITEC in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 1-3 years of experience in construction or mechanical and electrical (M&E) projects
- Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, piping, and mechanical installations
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately
- Familiarity with Singapore's local construction regulations and safety standards
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work on-site
