Responsibilities
- Create detailed technical drawings and layouts for machinery using CAD software to support design and manufacturing processes
- Set up and conduct tests on mechanical components or complete units, analyze test data, and compare results against design specifications to ensure quality and performance
- Build, install, and modify mechanical components, tools, and industrial machinery to meet production and operational requirements
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair faults in mechanical systems and equipment to maintain continuous operation and safety
- Record test results, prepare comprehensive reports, and maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and safety inspections for compliance and traceability
- Calculate labor costs, material requirements, and estimate equipment lifespan to support budgeting and cost management
Required competencies and certifications
- Proficient in CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD for creating technical drawings and layouts
- Skilled in setting up and running tests, analyzing mechanical system data to validate design and functionality
- Knowledgeable in mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical circuits to effectively troubleshoot and repair equipment
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly and accurately in written and verbal forms
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve mechanical issues efficiently
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Degree/ Associate degree in mechanical engineering technology or related field
