Job Description
Mechanical Engineering Leadership
- Lead the mechanical organisation across new product development, sustaining engineering, and costdown initiatives.
- Build strong design review, DFMEA, tolerance analysis, and DfM/DfA practices that catch issues upstream.
Product Delivery
- Own the mechanical roadmap across current and future robot platforms.
- Drive concepttoSOP execution through EVT/DVT/PVT, partnering closely with Electrical, Embedded, Autonomy, Product, Validation, Compliance, Supply Chain, and NPI.
- Ensure firsttimeright mechanical design that meets reliability, manufacturability, and cost-performance goals.
Team & Capability Building
- Grow and develop a highperforming mechanical team with clear subsystem ownership and technical depth.
- Establish part, material, and subsystem standards that drive platform reuse and predictable design quality.
Sustaining Excellence
- Lead rootcause analysis and corrective actions for field and production issues.
- Drive systemic fixes - not repeat failures - through strong failure analysis and upstream engineering changes.
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- At least 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in hardware product companies, with at least 3+ years leading teams.
- Proven ownership of end-to-end product delivery through EVT/DVT/PVT/SOP for at least two shipped products.
- Strong sustaining engineering experience - especially fixing recurring field issues through root cause and systemic design improvements.
- Hands-on expertise in DFMEA, tolerance stack-ups, FEA reviews, design standards, and mechanical reliability engineering.
- Experience with platform standardisation and driving part/material reuse with measurable BOM or complexity impact.
- Demonstrated cross-functional execution with Electrical, Embedded, Validation, Compliance, Supply Chain, and NPI.
