Mechanical Engineer - Rotating Equipment

Role Summary:

This role is responsible for the detailed review and completion of engineering selection and submittal documents, including proposals, drawings, calculations, test procedures, and IOMs for compressor seal requirements across the APAC region. The position will also support dry gas seal tester design and collaborate with relevant teams to resolve issues during dynamic testing. A key focus of the role is to deliver high-quality technical solutions that exceed customer expectations and drive overall satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

Provide application support for gas compressor seal selection.

• Support product coding and offer basic engineering guidance.
• Prepare and review reference proposal drawings and experience lists for specific applications.
• Develop upgrade or conversion proposals and solutions in collaboration with the sales team.
• Troubleshoot technical issues arising during gas seal testing on the dynamic tester.
• Select custom-designed seals for customer inquiries and coordinate reviews with the Singapore hub.
• Independently recommend standard seal selections in most cases.
• Assist the sales team during technical clarifications and customer meetings.
• Review and take ownership of proposal and order engineering drawings produced by GTEC.
• Create customer submittal documents such as test procedures and IOMs for gas seals and testers.
• Maintain a daily activity log and prepare weekly reports for the reporting manager.

Requirements:

• Diploma or higher qualification in mechanical engineering or an equivalent discipline related to pumps or rotating equipment.
• Ability to read, analyse, and interpret engineering specifications and drawings.
• Familiarity with mechanical engineering design principles and ANSI/API standards.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• High level of self-motivation, willingness to learn, and strong work ethic.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Few years of experience working with centrifugal pumps, mechanical seals, or mixer equipment.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD, particularly SolidWorks.
