Job Description

Position Overview

The Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Technician will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and preventive maintenance of the company's Singapore facilities, including the corporate office, rented apartments, and the Managing Director's residence.

This is a hands on role requiring strong technical knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to ensure smooth daily operations, safety, and comfort. The technician will also manage external vendors and contractors for specialized services such as air conditioning servicing, pest control, and fire safety systems.

In addition, the role will support office expansion projects, renovations, and fit out works by coordinating with landlords, contractors, and vendors to ensure quality, cost effectiveness, and timely project completion.

Key Responsibilities

A. Maintenance of Existing Facilities

  • Perform regular preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other essential building systems across the office, rented residences, and the Managing Director's residence

  • Respond promptly to breakdowns, service calls, and urgent repair requests

  • Oversee vendor and contractor maintenance works, ensuring quality standards and timely completion

  • Conduct routine inspections to proactively identify and rectify maintenance issues

  • Manage and supervise external vendors such as air conditioning servicing, pest control, security, fire safety, and landscaping providers, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards

  • Maintain tools, spare parts, and inventory

  • Ensure fire protection systems, emergency lighting, and other safety equipment remain operational

  • Provide general handyman services including minor repairs, carpentry, and fixture installations

  • Promote cost effective maintenance practices and energy efficiency

  • Remain on standby after office hours and on weekends for urgent matters, particularly at the Managing Director's residence

B. Support for New Facilities, Renovations, and Fit Out Works

  • Assist in technical evaluations of potential new or rental facilities during the leasing process, including inspection of mechanical, electrical, safety, and infrastructure suitability

  • Liaise with landlords, building management, contractors, and consultants during design and renovation phases in collaboration with facilities and real estate managers

  • Review technical drawings and specifications related to mechanical and electrical systems to ensure compliance with operational and building requirements

  • Supervise on site renovation and fit out works to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to project timelines

  • Support procurement of contractors, vendors, and materials for new or rental facility setup

  • Ensure proper testing, commissioning, and smooth handover of renovated spaces

Requirements

  • Diploma, ITE, or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services Engineering

  • Minimum 5 years of hands on experience in facilities or property maintenance, with exposure to renovation or fit out projects, preferably within the hospitality industry

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire safety

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

  • Familiarity with workplace safety standards and building regulations in Singapore

  • Good coordination and vendor management skills

  • Self driven, reliable, and willing to be on standby after office hours and weekends when required
