Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Coordinator
Key Responsibilities
Design & Technical Coordination
- Coordinate all Mechanical & Electrical (ACMV, electrical, plumbing & sanitary, fire protection, and other specialist systems) works on site
- Review and coordinate structural drawings, shop drawings, method statements, and calculations
- Identify and resolve clashes or discrepancies between Architectural, M&E, and C&S works
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes of practice, and authority requirements
Site Coordination & Supervision
- Supervise day-to-day M&E installation works to ensure compliance with approved drawings and quality standards
- Monitor M&E work progress and align activities with the overall construction schedule
- Coordinate sequencing of works with subcontractors to meet project milestones
- Attend site meetings and provide regular updates on M&E progress and issues
Consultant & Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with consultants, client representatives, and other specialists/sub-contractors
- Coordinate RFIs and ensure timely responses from consultants
- Assist in resolving design changes and site issues
Authority Submissions & Compliance
- Coordinate with consultants on submissions to authorities
- Ensure works comply with approved plans, statutory requirements, and safety regulations
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and approvals with consultants and authorities
- Support statutory submissions, testing, commissioning, and handover processes
Testing, Commissioning & Handover
- Coordinate testing and commissioning (T&C) activities for all M&E systems
- Ensure proper documentation, including test reports, as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and warranties
- Assist in defect rectification during the defects liability period
Quality, Safety & Documentation
- Ensure M&E works comply with project quality plans and safety requirements
- Review inspection checklists, test reports, and as-built drawings
- Maintain proper documentation for approvals, inspections, and handover
- Support compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements
Project Support
- Assist the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, and progress reporting
- Coordinate with consultants during design development and construction stages
- Support project handover and defect rectification related to M&E works
Requirements
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or equivalent
Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant M&E coordination experience in Singapore construction projects
- Experience in residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments preferred
- Familiarity with local authority requirements and inspection processes is essential
Skills & Competencies
- Strong coordination and communication skills
- Good understanding of M&E systems and construction sequencing
- Familiar with Singapore building regulations and authority submission processes
- Able to interpret architectural, structural, and M&E drawings
- Proficient in Microsoft Office AutoCAD. BIM knowledge is an advantage
- Able to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders
- Familiarity with design coordination in BIM environments
- Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills
